Founded in 2014 by marine biologist Lucy Hunt, award winning Sea Synergy is a Marine Awareness, Research and Activity Center offering a variety of Eco Tours, workshops, and adventures designed to engage people of all ages with Kerry’s wonderful marine life.
Our guided Seashore Safaris, Kayak, Paddleboard and Snorkelling Eco Tours are designed to facilitate a greater connection for all to Kerry’s stunning marine life.

Sea Synergy is seeking a caring, passionate, committed individual to join our team in Cahersiveen.
In the role of Watersports Instructor, the successful candidate will run and guide our Eco Tours and share their passion for the marine world in order to introduce our clients of all ages to Kerry’s wonderful marine flora, fauna, and natural heritage.

- Keen interest and experience in the marine, conservation and or related fields.
- Instructor’s certificate in kayak, SUP, or other water sports
- Previous experience working with children
- Demonstrable qualities and skills necessary to collaborate effectively and with people at all levels
- Be highly organised and self-reliant yet a good team player, responsive to the needs of colleagues
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- First Aid Certificate
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in variable weather
- Computer skills
- Social media experience
- Full Drivers Licence

The Activities Officer will be required to undertake the following tasks:
Weekly:
- Lead Sea Synergy Eco – Tours
- Equipment maintenance
- Weekly team meetings
- Allocating tasks for interns
- Promotion through social media of activities and events
- Manage bookings
- Assist in on going activities within Sea Synergy
Monthly:
- Check gear for wear and tear
- Organising local initiatives such as surveys and beach cleans
Pre-Season:
- Obtain ASI Paddleboard Instructor Qualification if necessary
- Advise on promotional materials required
- Check First aid kits
- Paperwork up to date and ready for the season
- Thorough check of all water sports and seashore gear – maintenance and repairs or replacements to be ordered
- Marketing for all upcoming events to be prepared
Post-Season:
- Thorough check on all water sports gear and seashore equipment, all gear to be stored safely in the trailer
- Report and Recommendations for next season

The payment of salary, travel and any other matters relating to the financial administration of the post will be the responsibility of Sea Synergy Ltd.
The Activities Officer will report to Lucy Hunt and the Operations Manager.
The salary for this position is €14.00/hour based on a 40 hour working week. Start May.
Any work travel undertaken by the Education & Activities Officer will be paid at approved Sea Synergy Ltd. rates.

Established by Helen Wilson in 1984, Derrynane Sea Sports was set up in one of the safest and most picturesque locations imaginable on the magnificent Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way. It is the oldest water sports centre on the Ring of Kerry specialising in a variety of sea sport activities for all ages and abilities, ensuring a high standard of safety, service and professionalism.

Derrynane Sea Sports is looking for an experienced and active watersports centre manager for June to September 2025 to run this popular centre in Derrynane, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

- Previous management experience
- Experience with efficient & economical scheduling, rotas etc
- Experience managing a team of watersports instructors and summer camp officers
- Instructors Certificate in one or more watersports: sailing, windsurfing, SUP, Surf, kayaking
- Powerboat licence
- Up to date First Aid Certificate
- Experience running summer camps & eco tours
- Experience working with children and adults and teaching watersports to all ages
- Ability to work independently with own initiative as well as in a team environment
- Experienced with online booking systems
- Good personable communicator
- Fluent in English
