Education is at the centre of everything we do at Sea Synergy
All of our activities from seashore safaris to kayak tours on Lough Currane allow participants to connect with nature and walk away with a meaningful experience and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Our aim is to make learning fun and interactive, as well as instilling a respect for nature and the ocean in everyone we work with.
Sea Synergy attends events through Kerry bringing with us our Marine Creature feature (MCF) stall. Our mobile MCF has a huge variety of information, a fish tank filled with rockpool creatures, bones from local marine mammals, shark eggs, and much more including a marine biologist to tell you some interesting facts about irish marine life.
Sea Synergy also delivers talks (both online and in person) and educational sessions to audiences of all sizes and ages on an array of marine topics. Including career talks in schools on careers in ocean science, an introduction to Ireland’s marine biodiversity, guided whale and dolphin watches and much more.
Another aspect to the education work that Sea Synergy does is delivering the Marine Institutes Explorers education program to primary schools across Kerry.
“In the end, we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand and we will understand only what we are taught.”
